What is Da Costa, and what kind of restaurant is it?

We are a restaurant in Bruton that serves Northern Italian–influenced dishes, while staying firmly rooted in Somerset by using locally sourced ingredients from Somerset suppliers and very own estate.

What is the connection between Da Costa and Hauser & Wirth Somerset?

Da Costa is located on the site of Hauser & Wirth Somerset and shares the same owners. The restaurant is named after and inspired by co-founder Iwan Wirth’s maternal grandfather, serving dishes rooted in traditions, care and imagination.

Is the site accessible?

All areas throughout the site are accessible for wheelchair users with a disabled toilet available. The car park has designated spaces for disabled parking, providing easy access to Da Costa.

Do I need to book or are walk-ins welcome?

Walk-ins are welcome, however we do recommend booking.

Are you dog friendly?

Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the restaurant and Courtyard Garden at Da Costa. We have treats and water bowls available. Dogs are also welcome in Roth Bar and the Somerset Farm Shop.

Is there an option to dine outdoors?

You can dine in our courtyard garden, which is the perfect spot on a summers day.

What private dining and event spaces do you offer, and what group sizes do you cater for?

For smaller celebrations, our semi-private dining area seats up to 30 guests, offering an intimate setting while still enjoying the restaurant’s atmosphere. For larger occasions, the main dining room accommodates up to 80 seated or 150 standing guests, with additional outdoor seating available in the garden during the warmer months. Find out more here.

What are your opening hours, and are you open on bank holidays?

We are open for lunch Wednesday to Saturday from 12pm to 3pm, and for dinner from 5.30pm to 9.30pm. On Sundays and bank holidays, we are open from 12pm to 4pm.

Do you have gift vouchers?

Gift vouchers can be purchased here and are valid for one year.

THE MENU

What are your signature or most popular dishes?

Our signature dishes include freshly made seasonal pasta, such as our slow-cooked Durslade Farm beef ragu, alongside meats and fish cooked over our wood-fired grill, like venison with creamy polenta and Da Costa sauce. To finish, our much-loved tiramisu.

Can you cater for dietary requirements and allergies?

Yes, we can cater for dietary requirements and allergies. Please make our team aware when you arrive, additionally you can add this to your booking notes.

When are the Da Costa set menus served?

The lunch set menu is served Wednesday – Friday from 12pm – 3pm. The dinner set menu is served Wednesday – Friday from 5.30pm to 6.45pm.

Where do you source your ingredients from?

Our ingredients come from our walled garden, farm and from trusted local suppliers.

How often does your menu change?

Our menu changes with the seasons and availability of ingredients, with specials available daily and Northern Italian classics remaining on the menu year-round.

Is Da Costa family-friendly, and do you have a kids' menu?

Our menus cater to guests of all ages with a children’s menu packed with delicious freshly prepared child friendly options. From pasta and meatballs, to homemade sausages, there is plenty that they are bound to love! On Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 5.30pm – 7pm, children aged 12 and under can also enjoy two complimentary courses.

Do you serve Sunday lunch, and how does it differ from the weekday menu?

On Sundays, alongside our à la carte menu, we offer a traditional Sunday roast featuring beef sirloin, classic roast chicken, or slow-roasted porchetta, all served with roasted carrots, greens, potatoes, and a Yorkshire pudding.

What’s the Da Costa address?

Da Costa, Durslade Farm, Dropping Lane, Bruton, BA10 0NL. You can also find us by following the signs for Hauser & Wirth Somerset.

Is there parking on-site?

There is free parking available on-site next to the restaurant which also gives you access to Roth Bar, Farm Shop and Hauser & Wirth Somerset.

Is there public transport nearby?

We are a 5 minute walk from the Bruton train station which links up to Bath (52 minutes), Bristol (1 hour 9 minutes), London (1 hour 56 minutes), Exeter (58 minutes) and more.

Are there electric car chargers?

Yes, we have electric charging available on-site throughout the day. This costs 60p per KWH.
